Mikko smiled when she stated the fact of the kiss. "Yes, I did." He frowned though when she said he shouldn't do that. "But you're not in a bad mood and you didn't hex me. What's life without some risks now and then?" He grinned. "And I hardly think they would send you to Azkaban for hexing a monster that was attacking you..... at least that's how the court would most likely see it.... and I would let them see it that way too to keep you out of Azkaban."
Mikko stopped and turned to Zara. "Are you telling me you didn't feel anything? Are you telling me that after everything we've been through... there's nothing." He pulled her off to the side, between a couple buildings."You are one of the very... very few people that have ever given a monster like me a chance.... and I fallen in love with you! Zara, you deserve to be loved. Let me in! Let me love you like that."
He kissed her again, deeper this time than before.

She rolled her eyes as he spoke about life and risks. "Sometimes life isn't worth taking the risks for. If that makes sense." Risks weren't worth it. After all if your life was moving on without whatever you were risking it would continue to move on if you didn't risk it.
Zara continued to listen and frowned slightly. It was true what he had said. The ministry would twist it and land it as his fault simly for being a vampire. Something that she thought was unfair. "You are not a monster." Zara said to him slightly frustrated. She hated that term. He wasn't a monster. Mikko saying he would go to Azkaban to make sure she didn't made her brow furrow slightly. Why was he being like this? Why now?
And there it was. The question she had been most fearing. Didn't she feel anything? Mikko pulled them off the main street, out of the hustle and bustle and for once Z wished she was surrounded by a crowd. It felt like everything she had been pushing back was falling in on her now. She'd known Mikko for years and they had become friends before friendship became flirty. Flirting was a safeguard. You couldn't get hurt because it was nothing serious. Z's heart almost stopped when he said he'd fallen in love.
Kissing her again in a way was a relief. It stopped her from having to say anything. This kiss was gentle like in the shop. There was something more behind it. Zara kissed him back before breaking away from it to look at him.
"You aren't a monster." Zara repeated. "You never have been to me. Even when you first told me, Mikko." He had just been a boy who needed blood. "Mikko... you... you know I feel for you. You mean a lot to me and I've let you in further than anyone else." Zara reached up slowly to touch his cold face. "You know what happened to me, and I... I just don't know if I could." If she could be normal. If she could knock down every wall for someone. Life wasn't easy with her. He'd get fed up. Leave. And there she would be hurt again.

He shook his head and smiled. "Every risk is worth it."He held Z close, not wanting to let her go after kissing her. He bent his head down to rest his forehead on top of hers. He smiled when she said he wasn't a monster. He never felt like one around her.
His hand was on her face again, caressing her cheek. "True, you've let me in some. You let me flirt, you flirt back.... but Z, there's a different between harmless flirting and how I really feel." He nodded his head gently. "Yeah... I know what happened to you. He hugged her tight.
"I want to keep you safe, love you right." He smiled a slanted smile. "You kissed me back...." He kissed her nose. "You can.... you're just...apprehensive." He pulled back a little. "Can't we just... try?" He smiled. "Zara.... I swear I won't hurt you. If... IF I manage to do that somehow... you have permission to kill me... stake through my cold heart and cut off my head." It was his way of saying he would never intentionally hurt her and that he would rather rather die than ever be without her.

Shehugged him back taking in a deep breath. As he spoke to her she thought. Carefully and quietly. "You wind me up sometimes. You make me so mad at time. And other times you make me laugh so hard. I .... I'll try." Zara said to him finally. "We'll try." She swallowed hard. A leap of faith.
She knew that even if he hurt her she wouldn't stake him and cut his head off. Truth be known, though she would not say it out loud yet, she had fallen in love with Mikko. Probably years ago, but it had seemed easier to just be friends. "I get the feeling some people might have been expecting this for a while." she said with a sheepish laugh. And others would possibly be horrified at the thought of dating a vampire. But he was hers and somewhere deep inside that gave her a deep sense of comfort and made her feel secure.

He chuckled softly. "I've got to keep you on your toes, right?" Mikko moved them back into the street, going toward their destination just a few doors down. He was very pleased that she'd agreed to try.
Mikko had a sort of... bounce in his step now. He had an arm around her waist and his other hand took her closet hand, just to hold it. "I'm not sure about people expecting... but I've been hoping for it for quit awhile." He let go of Zara to only open the door for her to enter the Three Broomsticks.

She gave him a small smile and said, "I guess. Maybe being kept on my toes is a good thing." They had moved out from between the building and back onto the busy street, which once again made her feel uncomfortable. Had she not already agreed to lunch with him, Z would have just made an excuse to leave.
His arm was around her and Z laced their fingers together as they headed towards the pub. "So why's it taken you this long?" Zara asked him as he opened the door for her. She walked in saying, "Thank you." She then scanned the room to find a place to sit and headed over to a table near a window.

He sighed. "A few years ago you still had all those walls up. I couldn't just tell you how I felt. You would have turned me down in seconds." He spotted a table that wasn't surrounded by many others with lots of people. He led her to it and pulled her chair out for her.
But then he frowned. "But then... on the train... well I was jealous I guess... how you started with that Bert guy..... I worried that I may have waited too long, that I would loose you." He shook his head and then ran a hand through his hair. "I was actually going to the shop today to get you a present. And I as going to plan some romantic evening to sweep you off your feet.... but here you were... and I couldn't wait anymore." He smiled.

Zara sat down on the chair he pulled out and thanked him. "I'm sorry that I came across like that. I'm surpised you didn't get fed up with me and just move on." Zara said to him as she glanced around the room. Most boys would have just given up if they had waited as long as Mikko. "But for the recored. I have always had... strong feelings for you."
Shaking her head, "I was just winding you up with Bert. I wanted to see how you'd react." Zara told him. It was her twisted way of seeing if he did like her. "You're a softie really aren't you? Not such a bad boy." she said with a small laugh. "I... I am glad you didn't wait any longer. This is... nice. It's nice to think we're... Well what are we?" Zara asked with a slightly furrowed brow.

Mikko sat across from her and shook his head. "You're well worth the wait, my dear. And I could never get fed up with you.... you keep me on my toes as well." He winked at her.
He leaned back in his chair, smiling. So she had always liked him! "Good to know." He took her hand from across the table and kissed it softly.
He playfully frowned when she told him he was only being wound up with Bert. But he smiled when she asked him if he was just a big softie. "I'm both." He nodded matter of fact-ly. "I've always been the gentleman.... but the whole 'killer vampire' gives me that edge." He chuckled. "And I play with that edge. It's fun." He was a teenage boy after all....
"Well... we're on a date... and we both have strong feelings for each other. We've already kissed twice." He grinned. "I'd say we just went from best friends to girlfriend and boyfriend." He put her first, as he always did. He cleared his throat a little. "Exclusively." He added that part in the end... still not liking how chummy Bert was with her. He wanted it known that he and he alone, was Zara's boyfriend, and he had no problem saying Zara was his only girlfriend.

"I feel sometimes you need to be kept on your toes." Zara told him with a small shrug and smirk. A slight blush came to her cheeks as he took her hand and kissed it. She wished she could stop blushing as she felt it made her look stupid.
He was indeed both. Mikko had been Slytherin's golden boy and it had shone through a treat this year. And yet if he was pushed he let out, what she liked to call, his inner vampire. "I like the fact you have both sides. I couldn't be with someone who was too goody goody. But its nice to know you aren't a complete jerk." It was a good balance that he had which was part of the attraction.
Boyfriend. Girlfriend. Exclusively. She nodded slowly. "Sounds good." Zara said to him. "Sounds weird." She let out a small laugh. "You're my boyfriend. And... I'm your girlfriend." It may have seem strange but to Z it was a scary concept that she was just grasping. "Ok. Um, maybe we should order something to drink."

Mikko chuckled. "Yep, I agree. I do need to be kept on my toes." He liked that he made her blush so easily.
The young vampire nodded. "Indeed." He was happy. His mother always said he'd get a nice girl with his manners. Well, nice girl's were... ok. Zara was a mix of good and bad just as he was. It was like they were meant for each other.
"Weird?" He frowned, but smirked immediately. "I suppose it can feel a little odd after being a 'lone wolf' for so long. But I like it."
He caught the attention of a waitress when Z said she wanted to order. As she got her quill and parchment ready, Mikko looked only at Zara. "You first, my dear."

Yes. A lone wolf. That was what she was used to but maybe it would be good to run with someone for a while. "I like it to." she said to him quietly.
The waitress came over and Mikko let her go first. "Um, can I have a butterbeer and a plate of chips please." Screw being the girl with a salad. She looked to Mikko so he could order.
Part of her wanted to pinch herself. It felt rather like an out of body experience. She then gave a small laugh and said, "This is gonna make being on the quidditch pitch a little more awkward." Both captains, both beaters. Quidditch was something she took so seriously.
