He slowly backed away, towards the staircase for his dorm. With a final nod, and muttered 'goodbye' at Alexis, he turned and ran for his dorm. He was tired, covered in blood and his heart was in his mouth. Why did he do that? Why? Alexis was the type of girl his parents always hoped he'd avoid; they wanted a trophy wife for their little boy. Well that wasn't happening.
And the Thrif's were going to be livid. The 'Queer Boy' was going to the frickin' Ball with their daughter. Wow, how the day had turned. He flinched as the door creaked open, revealing his dorm mates all sat on the end of their beds chatting.
It fell silent as he walked in. Two of them all avoided meeting his eye, knowing better than to ask questions. The third, a cocky brunette with the Quidditch Star looks and body, didn't. Ewan Nott. He saw himself as the King of Hogwarts, and he wasn't. No way, that position was held by another. Not Leo though.
The Darke family were popular, Leo always got an invitation to everything. But they weren't considered the height of Hogwarts' popularity. Though, why Alexis was so panicky about her friends was unknown to Leo. He was certain he wasn't that bad, though maybe his sexuality affected it.
Either way, Ewan stood up and went to say something but it was the final member of the dorm who stepped in. Zach Mason, who was Frankie and Vulcan's cousin on their mother's side. So Leo and Zach were related through the twins.
"Sit down Ewan, before I hex you and Leo hexs you. And believe me, I'd happily do it." said Zach, sounding bored as he flipped through a Quidditch magazine.
Ewan glared at him, before smirking at Leo.
"Where have you been, Darke? And who beat you up?" said Ewan, crossing his arms and grinning.
"Oh, it was your brother. He was looking out for you, after he walked in on me and Georgie." smirked Leo, which was childish.
Georgie was Ewan's girlfriend, who had a habit of running off to other men. Ewan went red and lunged, by Leo side stepped and then clambered into bed.
"Later, Nott." he smirked, drawing the curtains and charming them so that Nott couldn't get in.
He heard Zach chuckling to himself, and couldn't help but smirk. That was the cocky Leo that was fawned over by the girls and hated by their boyfriends, the one that Leo felt safe in. Not the stammering, blushing Leo he became around Alexis.
It was fear, he reminded himself. It was fear...
