Saira sat by the edge of the lake, watching the giant squid rolling around. A cool breeze hit her face and blew her hair back.
She was in her Hogwarts robes, as she had just come out of class, and headed straight for the lake. It was the start of the the weekend, and after a long week, Saira was glad about it. It seemed to have dragged out.
She sighed heavily and lay on her back, looking up at the clouds, which were slowly forming shapes in a Autumn blue sky.

Boromir was in his casual clothes, the hogsmeade trip was in two hours, he was wearing his favourite jeans and white polo with a flannel shirt. Not exactly designer but he liked it. He saw Talia lying back on the grass and walked over, having nothing better to do for a while. He stood behind her head and when she didn't notice he said "guess who?" and smiled, then he sat down behind and next to her. "You really should get changed, Hogsmeade in two hours!"

Saira smiled as Boromir came to sit next to her. She got up from laying on the grass and sat up facing Boromir.
"Oh God, that wasn't today was it? I knew I was forgetting something! The sixth years keep playing with the notices in the Common Room! Saira hadn't heard anything about it either, which she found extremely odd.
"I guess I should go and get ready then!" Sai groaned slightly, she was looking forward to just lying there for the afternoon, though hearing about Hogsmeade did lift her spirits somewhat.

"I once changed it to say 'all first years report to the forbidden forest'!" Boromir said with a laugh and said randomly without thinking, "Saira, would you like to go to the Halloween ball with me? As friends I mean" and he nervously awaited her reply biting his lip a bit. He just didn't want to go alone, he'd be a laughing stock, but was going with a fourth year any better?

"Why in the world would you think of putting that up?" Saira said laughing at this.
When Boromir asked her to go to the Ball with him as friends Saira was slightly taken aback. "Well I wasn't really planning on going..." It was the truth, Sai wasn't one for Balls and dressing up. And knowing her she'd end up breaking something. Whether is be something in her anatomy or something in the Hall.

"It was just a prank, and they actually believed it!" Boromir answered and then tried to convince her to come, she had sounded unsure but Boromir really wanted to go. "Come on! It's fun! You get to dress up, eat as much as you like, there's drinks and the band's apparently really good! Plus Ramsford's chaperoning, it's a chance to wind the miserable bugger up!" Boromir said then suggested "Tell you what, if buy you something in Hogsmeade, will you come along?"

Boromir shrugged, disappointed but looked on the bright side, "Whatever, either way you need to get ready for hogsmeade, you're surely not going like that?" he told her.

Saira felt slightly bad at denying the invitation to the Ball, she wanted to take it back. But she thought she's just look fickle if she did.
"Yeah..I'll um...I'll get going now." Saira said, she wasn't able to look him the the eyes.

"Cool" Boromir said in a calm, confident voice, he wasn't deterred. He was going to the ball anyway, Saira or no Saira. He loved it, every year without fail he turned up, in his favourite blood stained knight costume complete with fake sword of Gryffindor.
Boromir settled on the grass to wait for Saira to get changed

Saira got off from the graa and brushed the grass off from the back of her robes then walked back to the Ravenclaw commonroom.
She answered the riddle and ran straight up to her room. She quickly shoved on whatever she found, which was a pair of ripped loose dark denim jeans and a plain bluish-purple top. She shoved on a par a trainers and was done.
She went back down the way she came all the way back to the Lake, where Boromir was still sitting.
