September 1st had rolled around in the blink of an eye and Z felt like she had barely done anything at all this summer. Actually that was partially true. Most of her summer had been spent travelling, this year, without Jason. It was an experience and one she had truly enjoyed.
Walking down the train Zara picked out an empty carriage towards the back of the train. She placed her stuff away before sitting herself down next to the window and watching parents wave goodbye to their children. Rolling her eyes she looked away and picked up the book she had taken from her trunk and flicked through it before finding her page and resuming the story.

Bert looked around in the windows of the carriages, trying to find a place to sit. He was having no luck with this current task. He lugged all his stuff behind him, smiling at passing passengers who he didn’t know and already had found seats.
A little further down Bert had found a carriage with only one person in it. He decided this would be fine after all this could be chance to meet someone new, and why not take that chance. Bert bustled in with his things in tow, set them down and looked at the girl sitting before him. ”Hi!” he said enthusiastically.

Summer was spent in the alps, as it always was for Mikko. He'd spent a little time with his parents, but mostly he spent the time with his 'Uncle' out in the wild, alone. It was better that way.
But school was starting up again and Mikko was happy to be on the train going to Hogwarts. This year was going to be epically awesome. He'd been made Head Boy this year AND captain of the Quidditch team.
Once he'd done his round, making sure all the little kiddies had seats and everything he looked around for a seat for himself....
He found where Zara was sitting and opened the door. "Hello gorgeous." And he wouldn't ignore the guy in there too. "Hello," he gave the guy a nod.

The carriage door opened and Zara looked up to see a guy enter with all his belongings. Looked like peace was out of the question, especially with the most enthusiastic hello she had heard in a while. It was odd to have people greet her so warmly, considering she was Hogwarts resident Ice Queen. However she would give the boy a chance. Marking her page and putting the book down she said, "Hello. I don't believe we've met. I'm Zara O'Riley."
The carriage door then opened again and Zara rolled her eyes. More people. Great. However a small smile tugged at her lips seeing who it was. "Hello Mikko." She then shook her head. "Mikko be more polite, my new friend here might be offended that you dont think he is gorgeous."

Bert smiled, he recognised the name. ” Bert Fyodor Ivanova,” he replied still smiling. He went to take a seat opposite her.
The carriage door had opened, another guy had come in, him and Zara exchanged words. “Yeah!” Bert replied to what Zara had said, “I think I pretty gorgeous myself.” He joked and pouted slightly.

aarya said her final good bye to her aunt and turned her back ready to get away from her. she pulled her luggage down the corridors trying to find an empty carriage. however there were none, so aarya found the one with the least amount of people who would seem annoying. see a fellow slytherin in the cabin brought her some comfort. "looks like i'm stuck here. everywhere else is full." aarya said to announce her arrival.
she placed her luggage above her head, aarya took the empty seat and pulled out a book. not really knowing the people in the cabin she didnt feel like talking much unless they happened to discuss something she knew about. aarya looked to the girl and the two boys with a small smirk then turned to her book.

Mikko sat next to Zara and folded his arms in a fake pout at her. "I was being very polite. I said hello." He looked at Z. "You're the only person I think is gorgeous." Then he looked at Bert. "No offense intended, mate."
He smiled when someone else came into the carriage. "Well it's alright. We don't... well... they don't bite." He chuckled. While smiling his fangs showed at the corner of his lips.
Mikko stretched an arm to put it around Zara's shoulder.

Z laughed at what Bert said. "I like you Bert. And yeah, you are pretty easy on the eye." Zara gave him a wink. She knew it might get to Mikko slightly but she was a free agent and could do what she liked. And Bert had geuinely made her laugh so maybe a friendship could be on the cards if he managed to keep himself out of her bad books.
The carriage door opened again and Z sighed. Honestly why did people keep stumbling upon this carriage. "You aren't stuck here. There's always outside in the corridor." Zara muttered more to herself. It was nothing personal towards the girl but just how Z worked. She could rarely bite her tongue from making a comment or having a dig. Especially when there was an open opportunity.
"I bite... maybe not as worrying as a bite from Count Dracula here. But I do bite." she informed them kindly. Z eyed Mikko's arm as it moved to be put around her and for now she didn't say anything because for now she didn't mind. It brought a small smile to her sharp features.

His arm tensed when Zara called Bert 'easy on the eyes'. If he weren't a civil vampire he'd of ripped the guy to shreds just for that.
He frowned at Zara's response to Aarya's entrance into the carriage. She may have muttered it, but as he was sitting next to her, he heard it. "Now who's being impolite?" he whispered to her.
Mikko laughed though, at her comment on biting. "I'd welcome a bite from you, my dear." He stretched his neck a little and pointed to it. "How about one right here, right now."

Bert sat there, not entirely sure what say or do, he looked around the carriage way and started to hum to himself. “Sooooooo,” he said after a while, “How are we all today then?” he asked, the question was followed by a huge grin that swept his face. Bert was slightly scared to break this awkwardness between him and the other guy, but Bert thought that he could at least try his luck.

aarya listened about the biting and she smirked slightly. "hey biting can be fun sometimes." she said. aarya looked to the boy next to her and she smiled. "i'm wonderful. glad to be away from my aunt." aarya said. she loved her aunt because he was her only family left and her aunt took her in when she had no where else to go.
"i'm aarya by the way." she said to the others with a smile. "i'm the new head girl." she added. aarya was contemplating taking five points away from ravenclaw for the other girls smart remark but decided against it. she looked the girl up and down then rolled her eyes.

Z pulled a face at Mikko and whispered. "I'm notbeing impolite. It just me." Zara then shrugged. People hated her for being the way she was and in all honesty she didn't care. She didn't need other people there in her life. She had spent most of her life fending on her own. At Mikko's comment Zara smirked. She leaned over and nipped his neck before turning away. "Don't tempt me."
"I'm good Bert. Thanks." Zara answered before turning to look out the window at the passing green.

Mikko chuckled lightly at Zara saying she was just being herself. And when she leaned in and nipped at his neck... of he couldn't help but let out a happy growl.
He smiled and looked at Bert. Mikko doubted Zara would do that with Mr. Cheerful. "I'm just wonderful... Bert, thank you." He leaned back in the seat. "And you?"
He caught the wink from Aarya. "Biting is fun indeed." Though he frowned at her being happy to be away from family. Family was supposed to be your rock. You weren't supposed to be happy o be leaving them.
He pulled Zara into a hug as she looked out the window. "My uncle didn't come today.... though that's a good thing.... he'd of probably grabbed an unsuspecting parent just dropping their kid off and...." But he stopped. "Anyway.... Aarya, we have a tiny meeting to in a bit, you ready?" It was the meeting for all the prefects and stuff, getting their assignments for the year, and getting to know the 'co workers'.

Zara was content with looking out the window. The talk of family had turned her off getting involved. Jason was barely around these days and her parents were both dead and buried. Her jaw was clenched tight until Mikko hugged her. She relaxed in his arms slightly. Even if she wouldn't say it out loud Mikko was the only one who she would ever choose to trust with anything if it ever came up.
"Looks like we'll have some quiet time to get to know each other then, won't we Bertie?" Zara flashed him a grin. On top of pushing Mikko, Zara genuinely was interested in Bert and whether he'd be worth keeping as a friend. After he may come in handy is she needed something.

Bert nodded at both Zara and the boy from there responses. Bert still not knowing the guy's actuall name. "I'm good thanks, even better to be going back to Hogwarts now!" he reliped to the guy
Bert looked over to Zara, and smiled at her, it was ver rare that people would call him Bertie. "It does indeed" Bet chuckled.
He couldn't wait to be going back to Hogwarts now, every second the train moved was a second closer to going back, to what he called home. It was the only place he ever felt that he actually belonged. And to top it all off neither of his sisters' were in his house. What more could he really want? Whilst both his sisters' would be going back to Skegness at Christmas, Bert would be staying at Hogwarts. He doubted his father would miss him anyway.
